Empowering users: Introducing Text-to-Speech feature
Here at CheckedSafe, we’re always on the lookout for new ways to enhance the user experience of our multi-award-winning fleet management solutions. We’re therefore really excited to announce the support of a new Text-to-Speech feature for Android devices.
In keeping with our commitment to providing an inclusive and user-friendly management solution for all our customers – this new feature converts on-screen text into spoken words. A significant benefit for users who may find reading text on mobile devices challenging, as well as those who prefer auditory processing when carrying out their vehicle checks.
With the addition of this feature, our technology is now more interactive than ever – allowing two-way communication between yourself and the app. Now, not only can you speak to the app to report a defect or issue using the microphone icon on the keyboard, but the app can also talk back to you, asking you questions which you would otherwise need to read.

What is Text-to-speech?
Text-to-Speech (TTS) is a type of assistive technology that reads text on your screen out loud. With just a simple tap, the words on your screen will be voiced aloud for you to hear, providing a seamless and accessible experience for all users.
How can this Text-to-speech feature be used?
Whether you’re a busy fleet manager constantly on the move or a driver finding it hard to read vehicle checks on your phone, we believe this new Text-to-Speech feature could significantly simplify your operations. With the new ability to simply listen to the instructions and respond accordingly, many users prefer the feature for increased efficiency.
How can you use this feature?
Enabling Text-to-Speech requires a simple adjustment in your device’s settings.
Here’s how to proceed:
Step 1: Access the settings on your Android device.
Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Accessibility’ option. (If it is not visible, consider upgrading your Android system. The upgrade link can be found here.)
Step 3: Within ‘Accessibility,’ locate and enable the ‘Text-to-Speech’ feature.
Step 4: Upon using the CheckedSafe app, you will now be able to listen to the text read out loud.
As well as this – you can adjust the speed and volume of the voice, ensuring it’s suited to your specific needs. Whether you prefer a slow and soothing voice – or a fast and energetic tone, the choice is yours.
